Culloden Visitor Centre
24 January 2010
I’ve just come back from running a workshop for staff at the Culloden Visitor Centre. The centre was still closed (though the battlefield itself is open all year round), but opens again next month and it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. The interactive exhibit at the Centre tells the story of Culloden, and includes touch screen maps, listening posts telling the stories of historic characters, and a 360° immersive film that puts you in the battlefield in the middle of the action. The battlefield itself (see photo) can be explored with a handheld guide that includes audio, video and illustrations and is triggered automatically as you move around.
