The Main Hall at the National Museum of Scotland (formerly the Royal Museum until its merger with the Museum of Scotland in 2007 under a new name), was inspired by the Crystal Palace which housed the Great Exhibition of 1851. With its atrium galleries and elaborate glass roof, which lets light flood in even during the dark Scottish winters, its  gorgeous piece of architecture.
