Museum Diary
Museum of the American Indian
17 July 2010
Despite our quest to fit as many museums as possible into our trip to Washington, D.C. earlier this year in May, we didn’t quite manage a proper visit to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. We were still, however, able to marvel at its impressive architecture. The building’s textures and curvilinear form were apparently chosen to evoke a wind-sculpted rock formation, complemented by a series of water features and plants. Here I’ve put together a selection of architectural feature in this mosaic (created via Big Huge Labs).
