The Night of the Mummy event at the National Museum of Scotland was not the only exciting thing to happen last week. It was also the launch of sisterMAG, a new digital magazine for the versatilely interested and active woman of today. So besides popular women’s mag topics such as fashion and lifestyle, you’ll also find features e.g. on food, travel, DIY, careers, culture and technology. sisterMAG is the brainchild of Toni and Thea, who also happen to be sisters, who wanted to “create a community of ambitious and individual women, who want to inspire and help each other and just enjoy each others company – whether it is in the digital or analogue world”.

So why am I so excited and what exactly does any of this have to do with museums? Well, did I mention culture? If you hop on over to issuu.com, which hosts sisterMAG Issue 1, and flip to pages 110/111, you’ll find yours truly introducing the Adopt-a-Museum project, which as you all know is my baby (well, after #MuseumBaby, of course):

My personal Museum Diary blog (i.e. this one here that you’re reading right this minute) gets a mention too, which makes it even more exciting. I’m really pleased that Adopt-a-Museum is getting so much publicity at the moment (it recently also featured on the German blog Einstellungen Ausstellungen) and we’ve definitely seen an increase of submissions. A big thanks to everyone who has participated in and supported the project so far, and a big thanks to Toni, Thea and sisterMAG for featuring Adopt-a-Museum in their first issue.
