Museum Diary

Pumpkin Carving

31 October 2011

Two Hallowe’en posts in a day?! Well, I guess they’re only relevant today and I didn’t want to wait a whole year to post the second one. Usually it’s my husband who takes creative charge of our pumpkins, but inspired by the @RiverMuseum carving of their mascot, Sippi the Otter, I thought I’d also try my hand at a museum related pumpkin.

Since faces are always a popular motif, and to say thank you for my birthday present and our ticket to the day at the races, I settled on the Currywurstmuseum’s mascot @Qwoo. I don’t know if I’ve done him justice, but it was a lot of fun. We later delivered the pumpkin to the museum*, where I’m told he took pride of place on the ticker counter, along with some curry flavoured cheese muffins which we’d baked to go alongside the pumpkin soup we’re having for dinner (no point letting good carving leftovers go to waste).

I might post about the curry muffins later in the week, but first I need to do some more hardcore museum posts before this turns into a food blog.

* Thank you for the Currywurst lunch!
